On Friday the 18th of October 2013 the Prescott Brewery team visited the historic Warminster Maltings in Wiltshire to marvel in the magic of malt production in one of the UK’s most authentic malt houses, where traditions remain virtually unchanged since the mid 1800’s.
At Prescott Ales we are proud to use Warminster malts which we have found offer the best extracts and flavour profiles for our award-winning ales. James Bubb, head brewer commented that using Warminster products is an essential part of success mainly due to the consistent nature of Warminster’s Maris Otter Barley, which is known as being the best malt for traditional ale production.
We were also lucky enough to experience an informative tour of the floor malting process and see our next brews malted barley being processed ready for your next Prescott Pint!
Thanks to our friends at Warminster Maltings for a great day out. For more information please visit www.warminster-malt.co.uk
